THE MADRE'S Three Favourite Summer Cocktails

The Siesta
45ml tequila blanco
15ml Campari
15ml grapefruit juice
15ml lime juice
15ml sugar syrup
2 dash of bitters
Agua de Madre Original Lemon Ginger to top up
Shake all ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker, fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and then top up with Agua de Madre Original Lemon Ginger water kefir.
La Fresca
45ml London Dry gin
15ml lime juice
15ml sugar syrup
Fresh raspberries and blueberries to muddle and garnish
Agua de Madre Blood Orange Bitters water kefir to top up
Muddle a handful of the fresh berries in a cocktail shaker with lime juice and sugar syrup.
Add the gin and some ice and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass with ice and top up with Agua de Madre Blood Orange Bitters. Garnish with fresh berries.
The Madre's Passion Punch
2 tablespoons of honey
1 cup of ripe pineapple, chopped
100ml of dark rum
Agua de Madre Passionfruit and Raspberry water kefir to top up the glass
- Dried pineapple rings, mint sprigs, raspberries, and halved passion fruit, to serve
Place honey in a large frypan over medium heat and bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add pineapple and cook, stirring occasionally until lightly caramelised. Cool, then place in a blender with rum and whiz to a puree.
Strain pineapple puree through a fine sieve into two glasses filled with ice and top up with Agua de Madre Passion Fruit and Raspberry water kefir.
Garnish with dried pineapple, mint and a few fresh raspberries or a half passion fruit.
El Padrón
Ingredients
20ml Apple-Honey simple syrup*
25ml bourbon
2 dashes bitters
Agua de Madre Elderflower & Apple
Garnish: long orange peel rolled into an orange rose
In a cocktail glass or shaker, combine apple-honey simple, bourbon and bitters. Add ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with large ice cubes and top up with Agua de Madre Elderflower & Apple. Garnish with the orange rose.
*For the Apple-Honey Simple:
15 dried apple slices
75ml water
75ml apple juice
175ml honeyBrew the apple slices in boiling water for 8-10 minutes.
Strain 125ml of the liquid into a measuring cup. While still hot, add 175ml honey and stir well to combine. Add the apple juice and stair.
